Pins and Poses

You can have it all!

In this therapeutic two-hour workshop, Casie will lead you through an anxiety-reducting restorative yoga sequence followed by some simple acupuncture or acupressure administered by Katrina of Karma Zen Acupuncture.

Before we begin, Katrina will answer questions about and discuss fundamentals of acupunture, then Casie will lead a brief, grounding meditation leading into our gentle movement. During a nice, long savasana (resting pose), Katrina will spend time with each participant placing pins strategically, or ear seeds for those wanting acupressure.

Qoya with Nicole

Experience GRATITUDE through the body’s wisdom.

Qoya is a movement practice best described as a body meditation designed to open the feminine to her own divinity. It’s truly an experiential practice that is as unique as the women that show up. Qoya is based on the idea that through movement we remember. We remember our essence as Wise, Wild and Free. WISE, experienced through breath work, intention setting and yoga. WILD, through the creative expression of dance and FREE, through growing our capacity to feel sensuality in our body. Through out the class you are guided through different pillars/movements of circling, heart opening, and hip opening. Each pillar is experienced through a song and while I am there to guide you through many of the movements, the invitation is to move in whatever way feels good to your body. It is repeated in class that the focus is less on what it looks like and more about the way it feels. There is no way you can do it wrong, and the way you know you’re doing it right is that it feels GOOD to you. I love this! How often in our life do we really drop into the space of listening to what our body wants? This practice is a chance to let your body have a voice and for true connection to be experienced. It amazes me every time women come together in community to share of themselves, their voice and to hold space for each other…to let ourselves feel and express in a way that our daily lives and culture don’t usually make room for. While it’s primarily a journey inward through the body’s experience, the class also creates a beautiful container for women to share and experience a dialogue around integrating the wisdom experienced in class forward into our everyday lives. Each class is unique and guided with it’s own theme. And while it’s not mainstream, yet ;), the experience of free movement, music and connection to self on a deeper level in community with others is so very powerful.
